Pizza is always a winner in our household.
My five year old is a fussy eater and I often find that when I get him involved in the kitchen he shows an interest in eating - most of the time.
Pizza is one of those that both kids and adults love alike and I find we make less mess than when we’ve attempted baking.
In our home we often reserve the pizza making for the weekends when I’m not in a rush and the mess we do make doesn't see the stress levels rise.
With the recent lockdown it's definitely given me a push to do more with my two in the kitchen and making easy pizza fills up the time.
I made the base with self raising flour, natural yoghurt and water. After kneading for five minutes with the help of my two-year-old, we left it to rest in the fridge for 20 mins.
The kids love kneading the dough so I take a ball sized piece and let them play with it before helping them to roll it out. When we're done with rolling we stretch it out even further with our hands.
I then like to heat the base up for 20 secs on each side on a flat plan before I hand back to the kids to add the toppings.
I like to use up the left overs in the fridge so I tend to use pasta sauce for the base, the kids always go for cheddar and mozzarella toppings with the husband and I like to add anchovies and capers with some dried chillies inspired by my favourite pizza place Rudy's.
Once ready they go in the oven for 7mins on 200 degrees and that's it.
They taste great and no complaints from my fussy eater.
Tip: I always make extra dough which can be left in the fridge overnight so that I can rustle up for a quick lunch the following day.
