Our story
Tasnim and Shelina met in 2012 at a chance meeting during a corporate event, at The Brightwater Hall in Manchester (well, it is described as a ‘chance meeting’ by Shelina but Tasnim had been stalking Shelina for some time - we will fill you in on the details in our Podcast Trailer!). Since then, we have been inseparable.
Tasnim is a Partner in a Manchester city law firm and Shelina is the Business Editor for Manchester Evening News and Business Live. As full time WorkingMamas, we have always been each other’s go-to mamas - be it during an emergency, needing honest advice or wanting a key business introduction. We felt that it is important to share our stories about the challenges being faced by WorkingMamas such as imposter syndrome, feeling guilty, self-limiting beliefs or jealousy.
Although not always unique to working mamas, these themes can weigh particularly heavily on us and we believe they are worth highlighting and working through. Our stories will be dirty, close to the bone and sometimes outright outrageous, but we hope they provide comfort, humour and a little hope to the many women that we know are in a similar position.
